With Enterprise rent a car Palermo Airport the age requirement for drivers is min. 19 years for Mini and Economy category cars. Famous since the Battle of Himera in 480 BC, when Carthaginians fought the Greek over the ancient Greek city, Himera has been a landmark on Palermo's coastal skyline. What remains of what must have been a beautiful city is a Doric temple. The Niki (Victory) temple of Himera sits at the mouth of the Imera river, between Panormus and Cephaloedium (ancient Cefalù) in the present-day commune of Termini Imerese. It's an archaeological site about 8 km distance from Termini Imerese, just off the SS113 route. The site is in a district called Buonfornello. Some of the finds from the site, for example a lion-headed spout, are exhibited at the Museo Archeologico Regionale at Piazza Olivella in Palermo.

Sicily's most important center for ceramics and mosaics is in Santo Stefano di Camstra, roughly one hour and 14 minutes' drive from Palermo, taking the E90, A20 and again the E90 motorway along the coast. The town has about 5,000 inhabitants, and most of the streets, houses and municipal buildings are adorned in one form or another with the town's most colourful and artistic tiles or other types of ceramics. It's a beautiful little place at the foot of the Sicilian Appennines, bordering on the National Park of Nebrodi.

Along the coast are several nice beaches too, with clean water and lovely walks all around. The town's handcrafted ceramics are available in several shops, but there is also a museum devoted to the art of ceramics, the Museo Civico delle Ceramiche, housed in Palazzo Trabia. The palace was built in the late 17th century, and belonged to the Duke of Camastra. It still boasts the original ceramic floor tiles on the upper story.
